Prior to travelling to Canada, all travellers, including temporary foreign workers, who are five (5) years of age or older, will be required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result to the airline prior to boarding the international flight to Canada. This test must be taken within 72 hours of the scheduled flight.
All travellers must also download and use the ArriveCAN app to submit the following information within 72 hours before arrival in Canada:
- Travel and contact information;
- Quarantine plan (unless exempted from the requirements); and
- Self-assessments for symptoms of COVID-19; and
- Vaccination status.
Once the information is submitted, a receipt will be issued and all travellers will be required to display the receipt to the border services officer upon arrival in Canada.
Travellers will also be required to complete a Day-8 COVID-19 test kit.
Travellers who are fully vaccinated will be required to take a COVID-19 test upon arrival and Canada before proceeding to the final destination in Canada. Travellers who are not fully vaccinated will also be required to take a COVID-19 test upon arrival, and will also be required to quarantine while awaiting the test results, but proceeding to their final destination within Canada.
