The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program, or the OINP, is Ontario’s economic immigration program and an immigration pathway for foreign nationals to became Canadian permanent residents. The main objective of the program is to respond to skill shortages in the province. The OINP recognizes and nominates applicants for Canadian permanent residency. The applicants nominated are those who have skills and experiences that are seen as helpful to the Ontario economy. The OINP has nine streams that an applicant may qualify underneath below:
- French Speaking Skilled Worker Stream
- Human Capital Priorities Stream
- Skilled Trades Streams
- Masters Graduate Stream
- PhD Graduate Stream
- Foreign Worker Stream
- International Student Stream
- In-Demand Skills Stream
- Entrepreneur Stream
Once an applicant is accepted and nominated through the Ontario Nominee Program, the Government of Canada will then make the final decision about the approval of the applicant for Canadian permanent residency.
